Trade shows in Taiwan: how to get more from the trip

A trade-show trip becomes more valuable when relevant companies, meetings, questions and follow-up are prepared before the event.

Going to a trade show without preparation can produce many business cards but few decisions. Turn the objective into a concrete list of companies, questions and next steps before the event.

1. Decide why you are going

Are you looking for suppliers, technology, distributors, customers, competitor insight or a broader market picture? The same trade show looks very different depending on the objective.

2. Build a prioritized company list

Review exhibitors in advance and classify them into priorities such as A, B and C. For the most important companies, try to arrange a discussion before the event.

3. Prepare a common question framework

Comparable questions make it easier to turn trade-show observations into decisions. Also record who promised what and by when.

4. Leave room in the schedule

A fully booked day sounds efficient, but walking time, unexpected discoveries and longer conversations take time. Some flexibility usually makes the day more productive.

5. Follow up immediately after the trip

Classify contacts quickly: pursue now, revisit later, or not relevant. Send promised material and next questions while the discussion is still fresh for both sides.
