How to find a manufacturer in Taiwan?

Finding a manufacturer starts with a clear brief, not a long list of search results.

A good supplier search starts by defining what is actually needed: product category, materials, estimated volume, possible customization, target lead time and the market where the product will be sold.

1. Define the brief before searching

A generic “find a factory in Taiwan” search easily produces a large number of companies, only a small share of which are relevant. Before searching, define at least the product, estimated MOQ requirement, required standards and whether you need an off-the-shelf product, OEM manufacturing or an ODM partner.

2. Collect more than a name and website

The shortlist should help you decide which companies are worth your time. Useful information can include location, product area, indicators of export activity, customization capabilities, relevant certifications and a contact person or international sales channel.

3. Pre-screen before outreach

Ten well-justified candidates are often more valuable than one hundred names. Pre-screening removes companies whose product range, customer segment or manufacturing model does not fit the assignment.

4. Ask comparable questions

When contacting suppliers, use the same question set: MOQ, indicative pricing, lead time, samples, customization, packaging, relevant standards and previous export experience. This turns responses into a comparison rather than a pile of unrelated emails.
